The liver is located in the upper right-hand side of the abdominal cavity and performs many vital functions in the body. Shaped like a cone, it is a dark reddish-brown organ that mainly regulates most chemical levels in the blood and excretes a product called bile. The bile carries waste products from the liver. The blood leaves the stomach and intestines and passes through the liver. The liver then processes this blood and breaks down, balances and creates the nutrients.
We often do not give much importance to our liver, but actually the liver is working hard around the clock to keep our body running and healthy. Various complications and severe issues can arise when we fail to take proper care of ourselves. The liver helps to digest the food consumed and filter toxins as well from the body.
Food is one of the foremost factors for overall health. The food we eat literally reflects who we are, and definitely influences our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Hence, we should always try to consume foods that are good for a healthy body and lifestyle and avoid foods that hamper the smooth functioning of our body. A poor diet may often lead to health conditions such as hypertension, heart and blood vessels diseases, obesity, and diabetes.
Here are some tips for a healthy digestion and liver:
Consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee and green tea in moderation, oatmeal, berries, eggs, nuts and grapes etc. can help nourish the liver and make it healthy. Turmeric is pertinent for liver health.

Also, we should stay away from sugar, fried foods, junks foods etc. Smoking and consuming alcohol is a big no for liver health.
